In 1882

when Rosh Pina was still called “Gei Oni” (“valley of my strength”), Baron Edmond James de Rothschild founded an estate for the benefit of the local farmers who are known as the pioneers of the first “Aliya”. Gei Oni was later renamed by the pioneers “Rosh Pina” as per Psalm 118:22: "The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone” ("head of the corner" is "Rosh Pina" in Hebrew).

Over 100 years later, in 1994, the estate was acquired by Kobi Kuperberg. Kobi, having just come back to Israel from his business in the USA, chose to materialise a dream, his dream, to launch a small boutique hotel, a unique and prestigious establishment, in Old Rosh Pina. Kobi named it Pina Balev (in Hebrew “a corner in your heart”).

Following seven years of renovation

preservation and reconstruction, Pina Balev was exposed to the world. In the newly reconstructed 19th century estate five luxurious suites were built, surrounded by a wide garden. Wild plants and ancient trees decorate the garden along with collector’s art pieces that are spread around the garden and the suites: statues, decorative stained glass windows, paintings and various pieces of art made of pottery, iron, stone and wood.

It is evident

that every little detail has been thought through at Pina Balev in order to create an impeccable hospitability experience. The guest’s experience comes first and foremost: the service, attitude and attention to detail, all combined are why Pina Balev was voted and crowned the recommended B&B in the Middle East.
